Cancellation & Refund Policy
Last updated: 4 September 2026
Wansah is an Omani platform for booking stays, court hours, events and
experiences. This page says what happens to your money when a booking is
cancelled — by you, by the partner, or by Wansah. It covers every booking
made through the Wansah app, and it is written from how
the system is actually built, not from a template.
1. Which policy applies to your booking
Every listing carries a cancellation policy, and the one that applies to
your booking is the one shown on the listing page when you book. Wansah
has three policies: Flexible, Moderate
and Strict. Every listing is on Moderate unless its page
says otherwise.
2. The three policies
| Time left before the start | Flexible | Moderate | Strict |
| Seven days or more | 100% plus service fee | 100% plus service fee | 100%, service fee kept |
| 48 hours to seven days | 100% plus service fee | 100%, service fee kept | 50% |
| 24 to 48 hours | 100%, service fee kept | 50% | Nothing |
| Under 24 hours, or after the start | 50% | Nothing | Nothing |
Time is measured to the moment your booking starts:
check-in time for a stay, the first booked hour for a court, the event
start for a ticket. Cancelling after the start falls in the last row. The
percentage is of the booking price; "plus service fee" means Wansah's
service fee comes back to you as well.
3. How the amount is worked out
- The percentage is applied to your booking's base amount (the partner's
price), and to Wansah's service fee as well where the table says so.
- VAT (5%) comes back in the same proportion as what is refunded — never
in full on a partial refund, never withheld on a full one.
- It is computed from the prices frozen on your booking the day you
booked, not from today's prices.
- It is rounded to the nearest baisa.
- Before you confirm a cancellation, the app shows you the exact
amount that will come back, computed by the same rule that
pays it — so the number you see is the number you receive.
- If a booking cannot be cancelled at all (it has started or is
completed), the app says so instead of showing a figure.
4. Where the money goes, and when
- The refund goes back to the payment method you paid
with, through the payment gateway (OMPAY). We do not turn a
refund into wallet credit or a voucher.
- If you cancel on the same day you paid (Muscat time)
and the refund is for the full amount, the charge is reversed and
never appears on your statement at all.
- Otherwise a refund is sent to your card, and it shows on your
statement in the time your bank takes to post it — that part is set
by the bank, not by us.
- Every refund is released by a person at Wansah after it is checked
against the booking; nobody — not even the partner — can move money
out of your booking. A refund can never exceed what you paid, however
many requests exist.
- If you paid by bank transfer or another manual method, the money is
returned by hand and recorded with its reference.
- If you never paid (a booking abandoned at the payment page), there is
nothing to refund; the booking expires on its own and the place is
released about 20 minutes after your last payment attempt. If your
bank completes the payment after that, a refund of the full amount is
opened automatically.
- Once the full amount is back, the booking in the app shows the
payment status "Refunded".
5. Tickets and court hours
- Cancelling a ticketed booking voids the tickets in the same
moment and returns the seats — a cancelled ticket will not open
the gate, even if its code is still on your phone.
- Cancelling a court booking frees the hour for someone else at once.
- In both cases the table above applies to what you paid.
6. Not turning up
A no-show is not a cancellation. The partner records it with a reason
(kept in the audit record), the time is treated as used, and what comes
back is what the policy gives at the moment the booking started — the last
row of the table: half the price on Flexible, nothing on Moderate or
Strict. If you want to cancel, do it before the start; the difference is
money.
7. When the partner or Wansah cancels
If an organiser cancels an event, or a partner or Wansah cancels your
booking, the policy does not apply: you get back the
full amount you paid, the tickets are voided, and we tell you. The
partner cannot release the money themselves — Wansah does, which is one
more check between "the event is off" and "the money leaves".
8. Bookings that have started
After check-in, or once a booking is completed, it can no longer be
cancelled from the app. If something went wrong — the place was not as
described, or you could not use it — write to support with the booking
code; our team can still open a refund case against the booking, up to
what you paid.
9. Invoices
A tax invoice is issued when your booking is confirmed and paid, and you
will find it under Invoices in the app. An issued invoice is never edited:
the refund is recorded against the booking, and if you need a credit note
for your records, write to support.
10. Disputes and contact

11. Changes to this policy
If the percentages or deadlines above change, we update the date at the
top of this page and tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
